GMC has rolled out the 2026 Sierra lineup, and it’s got something for everyone – from tough work trucks to fancy luxury rides and even electric ones. The big news this year is the expanded Sierra EV with new trims that make it more affordable and adventurous. The regular gas-powered Sierra 1500 is mostly the same as last year, with just a few small tweaks. Let’s break it down simply.

Exterior

The 2026 Sierra keeps its strong, muscular look that turns heads on the road. The front grille is huge and chrome-heavy on higher trims like Denali. New colors this year include Glacier White Tricoat and Coastal Dune, replacing some older ones. LED lights are sharp and bright.

For the Sierra EV, the new AT4 trim adds off-road style with bigger tires and extra ground clearance.

Interior

Inside, the Sierra feels premium, especially in Denali and Denali Ultimate trims with leather seats, wood accents, and massage functions. There’s plenty of room, and the big 13.4-inch touchscreen is easy to use with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The EV versions are super quiet – no engine noise at all!

Features and Sound

Safety stuff like automatic braking and lane keep is standard. Higher trims get Super Cruise for hands-free driving on highways. The famous MultiPro tailgate is back – super handy for loading.

For sound, the optional sport exhaust on the 6.2L V8 gives a deeper, more aggressive growl in Sport mode. The EV is silent but quick.

Engines, Mileage, and Performance

The gas Sierra 1500 has four engines: a turbo 2.7L four-cylinder, 5.3L V8, 6.2L V8 (up to 420 hp), and a diesel for best towing (up to 13,300 lbs). Mileage is solid – expect around 20-23 mpg combined for the diesel.

The 2026 Sierra EV shines here with new Elevation and AT4 trims. Starting cheaper at about $64,500, it offers up to 478 miles of range on the Max battery. It’s fast, quiet, and can tow well.

Showroom Prices

Gas Sierra 1500 starts around $40,900 for the basic Pro, up to $86,000 for loaded Denali Ultimate. EV models begin at $64,500 for Elevation, with AT4 around $81,000 and top Denali higher.
